173 Eye Surgeries in Fiji

 

Our 2015 medical mission to Fiji to provide eye care was a huge success. With the support of the Nadi Public Hospital with pre-screening, our team of volunteer eye surgeons completed an amazing 172 surgeries in 8 1/2 days.

Of those surgeries, 149 where cataract surgeries with IOL implants, 6 were corneal transplants, 4 were pterygium surgeries, and 13 were miscellaneous surgeries.

Our patient is blind in one eye and the other recently went blind due to cataracts.
